Who will finish the season as Division III's assists leader?
Vote below for who YOU think ends the season top of the list

1. Mateo Briseño (Saint Maximilian Catholic School), 7 assists

Briseño is the complete attacker on this list. The junior has seven assists to go with nine goals in 10 games, and he is level with Alexander Silva at the top of the goals list as well. At 2.5 points per game he has been involved in 41 percent of the recorded goals for a Saint Maximilian Catholic School side that are 7-1-2 in the Bay Area Independent Athletic League. Against Buckingham Charter on Aug. 21, a 10-1 win, he scored four and set up two more.

2. Declan Ferrigan (Saint Maximilian Catholic School), 5 assists

Ferrigan is in his first varsity season on record, and he has arrived as a creator. The sophomore has five assists and six goals in 10 games, 1.7 points per game, and has been involved in 28 percent of Saint Maximilian Catholic School's recorded goals. With Briseño alongside him, the two have set up 12 goals.

T3. Joseph Sung (Fremont Christian), 3 assists

Sung has done it in the fewest games of anyone on this list. The freshman has three assists and seven goals in three games, 5.7 points per game, and has been involved in 56 percent of Fremont Christian's recorded goals. Against California Crosspoint on Sept. 17, a 7-0 win, he scored three and set up three more.

T3. Benaiah Ishida (Fremont Christian), 3 assists

Ishida is the clearest creator on this list. The freshman has three assists and no goals in five games, so everything he has contributed has been for someone else. He has been involved in 17 percent of the recorded goals for a Fremont Christian side that are 2-7-1 in the Bay Counties League, and with Sung he gives them two freshmen in the top three.

T3. Emerson Rodriguez (Saint Maximilian Catholic School), 3 assists

Rodriguez has three assists and a goal in 10 games. The junior is the third Saint Maximilian Catholic School player in the top five, part of an attack in which six players have scored two or more.
