InsideTheNinety Is Looking for High School Soccer Story Interns

InsideTheNinety is all about celebrating high school soccer — the players, the rivalries, the late-game drama, and the stories behind it all. We’re looking for Story Interns who want to help capture that action each week.

As a Story Intern, you’ll attend games, note the key moments, and write short recaps or features that follow your team throughout the season. We’ll share guidance and best practices on how to structure a recap, what moments to look for, and how to tell a compelling story even in a short format.

What you’ll do

  • Attend weekly home games (and away games if you want) for your school’s boys and/or girls soccer teams
  • Write game recaps, player spotlights, or short features that highlight big moments and turning points
  • Share standout plays, performances, and behind-the-scenes details that fans don’t see in the box score

You don’t need formal journalism experience — just enthusiasm, reliability, and an interest in telling great stories.

If you love the game and want to build writing experience while contributing to something meaningful, this role is a great place to start.

Who We’re Adding Right Now

We are currently onboarding story interns from CIF North Coast Section (NCS) high schools.
If you attend a school in another CIF section, feel free to reach out — we will be adding additional sections soon and would love to connect early.
