San Ramon Valley Rolls Into Division I Final With 5-0 Statement Win Over Analy
by Jack Flowers · Winter 2025
San Ramon Valley delivered a dominant performance from the opening whistle, overwhelming Analy 5–0 behind relentless pressure and clinical finishing. Early control came through Miles Taylor (#21), whose movement and direct running immediately stretched the back line, while Analy looked to Mateo Cortez (#7) on the wing to provide a spark in transition. The early tempo belonged to SRV, who pinned Analy deep and dictated the rhythm of play.
The breakthrough reflected that control. Garrett Colley (#29) found the net to give SRV a 1–0 lead after sustained pressure in the attacking third, while Javonte Smith (#10) attempted to slow the momentum with composed touches in midfield whenever Analy were able to build. But the Wolves consistently won second balls and recycled possession, keeping the game tilted in their favor.
San Ramon Valley thought they had doubled their lead from a corner sequence that ended in a tap-in, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside. The disallowed effort did little to slow the momentum. As the half wore on, SRV turned territorial dominance into separation.
With minutes remaining before the break, Taylor produced the game’s defining moment — driving directly at defenders, weaving through the back line, and finishing a composed solo effort to make it 2–0. Shortly after, Alex Perrotti (#16) found space inside the box and finished cleanly to extend the lead to 3–0, capitalizing on the Wolves’ relentless attacking waves.
SRV carried that same sharpness forward. Taylor struck again after gliding past defenders and burying a precise finish to make it 4–0, continuing his standout night. The fifth arrived when Colley added his second of the evening, finishing a well-worked move across the box to cap a flowing attacking sequence that showcased SRV’s cohesion and composure.
Analy continued to compete despite the scoreline. Cortez remained active in wide areas, and Brandon Cervantes Gutierrez (#11) battled defensively to prevent further damage. But the Wolves controlled every phase — organized without the ball, composed in possession, and ruthless when chances appeared.
It was a complete performance from San Ramon Valley, one that underlined their quality across the pitch.
Final Score: San Ramon Valley 5–0 Analy
